Foreword: This piece is written about how my constant worried buzzing mind has recently been described to me. As a waterfall, one thought and concern lead onto yet more worries, into another and then another. I have been used to living with a constantly buzzing worried mind for as long as I can remember. This is the first time anyone has ever used a simile to describe the way they see my brain working.

Thoughts are like my waterfalls Constant stream of noise Rushing in and over me Wash away the built up poise

Tumbling out of mind to free To watch them crash to ground Spill out and soak my feet But not wash away, they're all around

I stand atop and peer below To white spray and clouds alone With hope I wish they would disperse Instead I scream and moan

For the never ending waterfalls Of thoughts continue to fall Spill out and over me So loud I can't hear the call

Of shouting voice to me above I squint down consumed by worry I catch the words to calm my soul Slow down no need to hurry

So take on board the soothing voice I struggle so often to hear Listen closely to the calls Atop my waterfalls
