All That Matters.

Updated: Dec 16, 2020

Foreword: This piece is written as my response to the unjust and tragic death of George Floyd on May 25th 2020. His name now widely known across the globe for the cruel and completely unnecessary way he lost his life. I have no understanding of racism, from the perspective of being on the receiving end. I do not understand why a minority of people think it is OK to abuse another human being due to the colour of their skin. Whatever colour that is. Everyone of us has a beating heart. We have emotions, feelings, we hurt, and cry the same tears. In that sense, are we not identical? In Gods eyes, we are equally loved and cherished. He sees no colour of skin. He sees the person. So do I. Regardless of whatever branch of press reporting or rhetoric you believe, the fact remains. George Floyd should not have died.

Does it really matter what colour we are? We are all people, who breathe the same air We're a world with international nations Across the globe, because of this there should be celebrations..

God made us all the same If deep inside you really search To judge and hate on colours of the skin Surely is insane..

To hold him down Just for what, the colour of his skin? In the mirror you should be looking See reflection of peoples frowns..

For there is no difference I can fathom? When in front of me I see Not the colour of the skin But a person the same as me..

One world we are In Gods eyes only it would seem.. So much hatred towards the colour We're straining at the seams..

But I know his light will always win Cast out the darkness of this world Embrace his non discriminatory love Into the abyss the hate is hurled..

So for me one colour we are One world, One God, who's true to me.. Fight we must, beat the unjust Please hear this heartfelt plea...

Step away from haters I berate the minorities traits To hate them for their colour At the end of the day a man is dead Isn't that all that matters?
